In December 2004 SPD found the Artista Arts & Crafts project to enable artists with disabilities to exhibit their art products and auction it to the public. An conference room was renovated and turned into an art gallery for the purpose of exhibitions. SPD purchased a number of art pieces which remain on exhibition, using it to market these special abilities of persons with disabilities.

Soon after it was realized that craftwork was a further medium for personal development and satisfaction. The Artista Arts & Crafts group was established enabling 12 persons with disabilities to participate in a weekly class where multiple craft activities take place. These products are available for sale to the public – again demonstrating the ability of people with disabilities, even those living with severe disabilities.
